Michael Jungen

Michael Jungen is a guest experience & technology executive and consultant. Most recently he served as Carnival Corporation’s senior vice president of guest experience design and technology. While leading the Global Experience & Innovation teams at Carnival he played a key leadership role in developing proprietary, first-of-its-kind technology that drives Carnival’s innovative Ocean Medallion guest experience platform, a first in the cruise and vacation industry. Prior to Carnival, Michael spent nearly 23 years with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, where he played a key role in the Next Generation Experience (NGE) project leading invention, development and implementation of the MagicBand, and MyMagic+. Prior to NGE, Michael is proud to have led teams responsible for designing and delivering an array of automation and innovation initiatives including single-finger biometrics at park entrances and the Disney Gift Card. An avid believer that diversity is at the heart of innovation, Michael was a member of Disney Parks & Resorts’ Executive Diversity Advisory Council and he is currently a board member for KindRED Pride Foundation. Michael holds over a dozen patents and multiple innovation awards.

Michael was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.  He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from St. Meinrad College in St. Meinrad, Indiana.  He currently lives in Belle Isle, FL with his husband, Fhanor, where he enjoys running and boating.
